How does food4four work?

food4four delivers farm fresh ingredients with step-by-step recipes to create no-fuss dinners to your door.

We do all the planning, shopping and portioning of the ingredients – all you have to do, is cook!


Do I have to cook the dishes?

Yes, you have to cook the dishes.  We do all the planning, shopping, testing of recipes and provide you with all the ingredients in pre-measured quantities.

Level 1 recipes are all about simplicity and familiarity. They involve little multi-tasking, ingredients and few steps.

Level 2 recipes involve a bit more multi-tasking and concentration. They encourage you to experiment with different ingredients and cooking techniques.

Level 3 recipes take it up a notch with the most amount of multitasking, slightly more time consuming and a wide variety of adventurous ingredients.  Possibly challenging but very well worth it.


How do you plan your menu?

We want you to cook and eat sustainably with our collection of environmentally conscious recipes and tips.  We work with a dietitian, together we plan and design our menus around seasonal produce to minimize kitchen wastage and to make better ethical and organic shopping choices.

Our ‘on the menu’ page shows each meal for the upcoming week, you will also receive a reminder mail every Tuesday to inform you about the upcoming meal plan.


What ingredients do you expect that I already have at home?

We expect you to have olive oil, cooking oil, salt, pepper, sugar, flour, butter, egg and milk.  However, if any of these ingredients are needed in large quantities, we will provide them to you.


Where do you source your meat from?

We source our chicken, lamb and beef from free-range, grass-fed, suppliers and our pigs are from kinder to sows suppliers.

Where we can, we supply organic ingredients.  We work with trusted and sustainable business partners to ensure high quality, seasonal and farm sourced produce at peak freshness.

There is no contract.  food4four boxes are subscription based, which means you can pause, resume, switch or cancel from week to week.  It’s all up to you.


What is the latest that I can order?

The latest that you can order is 12 o’clock on Wednesday for delivery on the next Monday/Tuesday.  However, we will do our best to assist where we can even if you are a bit late.


Can I change to another box?

Of course you can change to another box.  Here is how:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Go to subscriptions
  3. Choose the subscription you would like to take
  4. Choose the subscription you would like to cancel
  5. Update your account


Can I skip a week or pause my subscription?

You can skip or pause at any time before the cut-off time of the next week (11 o’clock on a Wednesday).  Here is how:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Go to subscriptions
  3. Choose the subscription that you would like to pause
  4. Suspend account

If you like to ‘activate’ your account again, just login to your account and ‘activate’ your subscription.


When will I be charged?

You will get charged for your first box the day that you subscribe, after which you will get charged every Wednesday until you pause or cancel your subscription.  You will automatically be charged at 11am on Wednesday for boxes that are due for delivery on the following Monday.


Is there a refund policy?

We will fully reimburse any customer who is unsatisfied with the produce delivered, providing the reason for the dissatisfaction is valid.



What do I get in a box?

All the pre-measured ingredients for the menu of your choice, easy to follow recipes and step-by-step instructions to cook up amazing meals.

You need to have the following in your pantry:  eggs, milk, butter, flour and oil.


What should I do if one of my ingredients is damaged or missing?

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.  We are committed to good service and will do our best to limit your inconvenience   Please contact us at +27(0)79 529 7297 so we can make this right ASAP.


How many meals in a box? 

There are 3 or 4 (depending on your choice) easy, no-fuss dishes in each box.  Boxes can be ordered for 2 people (4 meals per week), 4 people (3 or 4 meals per week).


Do you offer plans for singles?

Our entry subscription is for 2 people.


Can I recycle the packaging?

Yes!  We would love you to recycle our packaging.  If you’d like us to re-use the packaging, please hand these to our delivery man next time he delivers to you.




Where do you deliver?

At this stage, we deliver throughout Gauteng.


When do you deliver?

Deliveries in Gauteng takes place every Monday.

Deliveries take place between 8am and 6pm.


What if I am not at the address to accept the delivery?

We’ll try our best to make a plan.  If we cannot reach you, we’ll make an arrangement to leave your box with a neighbour, receptionist or security guard and then let you know.

Can I change my delivery address?

You can easily change your delivery address, and this is how:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Select ‘addresses’
  3. Click ‘edit’ and make the necessary changes
  4. Click ‘save’


How much do I pay for delivery?

Delivery is free, so it’ll cost you nothing!  We take care of that.


How does my food stay fresh in transit?

We have specially designed boxes and ice packs with insulation designed to hold their refrigerated temperature guaranteeing freshness for up to 24 hours.
