Beef stir-fry with tender stem broccoli and shitake mushrooms 

The secret behind a good stir-fry is to have all your ingredients ready before you start. Make sure that everything is cut to size and if you don’t want your vegetables too crunchy, drop them in boiling water for 5 minutes before adding them to the stir-fry.

INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoons food4four stir-fry oil
4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
400 grams beef, thinly sliced
2 egg whites
3 teaspoons potato starch
300 grams tender stem broccoli
4 shitake mushrooms, sliced
1/3 cup food4four stir-fry sauce
1 tablespoon food4four chilli sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon roasted sesame seeds
1 ½ cups rice

METHOD

Prepare all your ingredients.

Bring a saucepan with 3 cups of water and 1 teaspoon salt to a boil, add the rice; give it a stir and bring it back to a boil; cover, lower the heat and cook for 15 minutes. Remove the por from the heat and let it stand, covered for 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork and start with the stir-fry.

Pour the food4four stir-fry oil in a wok or saucepan and heat over medium heat. Add the garlic and fry for 2 minutes or until fragrant.

Increase the heat to maximum and add the beef. Cook for 1 minute. Add the broccoli and shitake and stir-fry for 40-60 seconds.

Swirl in the food4four stir-fry sauce against the pan (not over the ingredients) and stir-fry for 10-15 seconds. Remove from the heat, drizzle with sesame oil and sesame seeds. Serve immediately with rice.
